How do I protect Momento with a passcode / pincode or Touch ID / Face ID?

The lock screen is designed to be a second layer of security on top of your devices' lock code. It helps prevent prying eyes from accessing Momento in case you leave your device unlocked or share your device with others.

This is a Premium feature available as part of Momento Premium.

Setting the passcode

  1. Tap the 'Settings' icon (cog) in the top left of the 'Timeline' tab.
  2. Tap 'Preferences'
  3. Toggle the switch alongside the 'Lock' item.
  4. Enter a 4-digit pin code
  5. Enter the same pin code to verify it.

Passcode options

Once you have set the passcode several options will be available:

Change passcode

To change the passcode you will be required to enter your current passcode, followed by your new code and finally a confirmation of your new code.

This setting determines the delay between when Momento becomes inactive (i.e. sent to the background) and when the passcode is required.

The most secure setting is immediately.

Touch ID / Face ID

If you have a device that is capable of Touch ID or Face ID, you can use this as an alternative way to unlock Momento.

Changing the pascode

To change the passcode:

  1. Tap the 'Settings' icon (cog) in the top left of the 'Timeline' tab.
  2. Tap 'Preferences'
  3. Tap 'Change Passcode'
  4. Enter your current pin code.
  5. Enter a new pin code
  6. Enter your new pin code again to verify it.
